February 20, 2021 will be the HEARTBREAKER EDITION for our challenging gravel and road 22 mile circuit starting in Holland, Texas. Gravel sections are fast and smooth, so skinny gravel or road bikes are acceptable. Riders are expected to self-maintain their own tires, tubes and equipment. This event is promoted and sactioned by USA Cycling under permit #2021-4801 – USAC licenses are not required, but helmets are mandatory at all time when on a bicycle.

Under Governor Greg Abbott’s Executive Order GA-28, dated June 26, 2020, outdoor gatherings of more than 10 people in the unincorporated areas of the County are prohibited unless approved by the County Judge. This event has signed approval by the Bell County judge under the following conditions: individuals not of the same household shall maintain social distancing, individuals will self screen before coming to the event for COVID signs or symptoms, attendees shall wear face coverings when within 6 feet of another person who is not a member of the individual’s group.
Riders shall wear face coverings on the start line at staging and may remove coverings prior to at the start. Rider categories have been set at limited capacity and smaller waves. Once each category limit has been filled, an optional waitlist may be created.
Late start times allow riders to travel from Waco, Houston, Dallas and San Antonio to the event and return home in the same day. 200 METER and 1KM markers before the finish line will be in place – because that’s bike racing.
This event and parking lot is held on a Texas State School property, so please be advised of Texas Alcoholic Beverage Code § 101.75. Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages Near Schools and Tobacco/E-cigarette restrictions as well. Please be good citizens and do not drink or smoke at a sporting event on Texas State property.
Bathrooms will be available at the High School’s gymnasium.
Please bring your own drinks, fluids, filled water bottles, coolers, nutrition and spare bottles in coolers to setup for self-support in the feedzone of the high school parking lot. 180 Feedzone stops of 30 seconds are mandatory at this series. Respect your fellow riders and allow for a quick bottle grab and go. If you do not require a bottle swap, you will stilll be required to stop for 30 seconds out of respect of hydration for others. The race will not be won in the feedzone. You can leave your CamelBak at home (unless it’s your “special needs” CamelBak that makes you feel like you’re being hugged and loved by its chest straps), be euro and bring your un-insulated tiny bottles for the feedzone. We’re going to enforce 30 second feedzone stops, foot down to show sportsmanship and hydrate properly.
Podium presentations will take place within 10 minutes of the third place finisher. Podium ettiquite is encouraged and let’s mask up just like the pros on the podium for good health code and image.
